Classes

                                                 TINY TOT TWO CLASS

An introduction to dance for our very youngest dancers. Ages 1.5 - 2 years old. They are invited to attend weekly 30 min classes. These classes are structured to stimulate coordination skills, listening skills, balance, music interpretation and motor development, and a introduction to ballet to our youngest dancers. This program is an excellent introduction to the world of dance.

 

                                  CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASSES

Introduces children 3 - 4 years of age to basic dance concepts; gentle stretching and motor skills movements. Students discover how their bodies can move; by creating their own dances and learning to respond to music and rhythm. They are also taught pre-ballet and pre-tap.

 

                                                            BALLET

The foundation for all other dance forms offers disciplined training in classical ballet style, technique and vocabulary with emphasis on correct body alignment and proper use of weight-bearing muscles and joints.

 

                                                               POINTE

The highest extension of Ballet Style. It is offered to qualified students as determined by the Instructor / Director.

 

                                                                  JAZZ

There will be emphasis on rhythm, coordination, fast movement, composition, strength and style. Classes are offered to children (9 years of age or older), teens and adults.

 

                                                    

                                          CONTEMPORARY / MODERN

An asymmetrical form of Ballet which stresses the torso as the source of movement with emphasis on creative improvisations and imaginative exploration of the body in space.

 

                                                          HIP HOP

It's urban, it's street, and it's diverse and forever changing. Hip Hop encompasses movement that has elements of poppin' lockin' and breakin' as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. It emphasizes body movement and rhythm while incorporating stretching and isolation.

 

                                                               TAP

A rhythmic dance form based on sound and movement, students will learn a very basic foundation for tap and vocabulary through creative teaching strategies. As the students progress, they will learn the fundamental tap sounds and steps leading to advanced rhythms and syncopation. Emphasis is placed on proper body placement, positioning, weight shifts, clarity of tap sound and rhythms.

 

                                               ACRO / TUMBLING

This class will develop strength and flexibility, focusing on the technique necessary for   tumbling skills. Students will work on the following strength flexibility gross motor skills ­ cartwheels, handstands, back-bends, round-offs, kick overs and more.  Classes are individualized to  allow each student to progress at their own pace .An amazing class for dances both new and developed.

 

                                                MUSICAL THEATER

This is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, acting, and dance. This also includes movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.

 

                                             TRICKS / TIPS

This is a class focused on teaching basic and advance moves & falls. Dancers will learn how to incorporate these fun new moves into choreographed dance. In this class, you’ll spend about as much time on the floor as on your feet!
